When I saw Julie’s post on Facebook yesterday, I hoped she would let me share it on True Barbellion. The excitement and pride is perfectly illustrated in her post-push up selfie. It’s exactly what we all feel when we finally tackle the elusive push up, pull up, muscle up – that momentary surge of joy in our achievements.
In July of 2013 Julie started doing CrossFit a couple of days a week. She teaches yoga and does Zumba and Cardio Blast classes at the YMCA. This weekend she ran her first Mud Run (and may have acquired a new addiction!). Her goal for May is to start the Couch to 5K Running Plan.
Change doesn’t happen overnight. And Julie’s excitement shows us why we shouldn’t quit after a month or two. Good things keep coming as we keep working. Her inspiration? A blog called Single Dad Laughing.
